Business Development Executive – FMCG Sector

Overview of role:



We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Executive for Midlands

Working with a waste cooking collection company

This role is the responsibility of the Business Development Executive to grow sales and waste collections within their allocated region by promoting the service and brand name

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To target new business within the sales catchment area and develop the customer base for fresh oil sales and used cooking oil and fat collections
  • To develop and maintain revenue from current customers by building relationships with them to ensure we are their preferred supplier of choice
  • Be constantly aware of competitor activity within your area and be proactive to ensure maximum sales opportunities
  • Ensure current customers are satisfied with product and level of service and to report any complaints to the sales manage
  • Promote the brand and services when meeting new customers and current customers
  • Ensure sales documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time
  • To liaise and work closely with all other functions across the business, i.e., accounts, credit control, distribution
  • To attend weekly /monthly sales meeting for your area
  • Comply with company training requirements
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by your line manager


  • Ability to demonstrate a minimum of three years’ experience within a Field Sales or Business Development role within the food sector that included the following:
  • Delivering growth in a competitive environment
  • Direct selling to the customer
  • Targeting and delivering new business including cold calling
  • Supporting and retaining existing customers
  • Ideally, you will be based in the target area and have a strong knowledge of the fast food, takeaway, and restaurant business within this area.


  • Sales/Marketing or food related qualifications from a Professional Body would be advantageous.

All applicants must have a clean driving license and ability to demonstrate good attendance in previous roles.

On Offer

  • BDE Midland salary is €35k/€45Kyear (DOE) plus 3k lunch allowance/year. Bonus depends on KPI
  • Other benefits:
