Overview of role:



We are currently recruiting for a Category Manager for our client in the IT Distribution industry based in Dublin 12. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive and expanding company. This is a full-time, permanent role with salary of up to €45K including bonus.

This role will be responsible for supporting the category strategy, sourcing, price and contract discussions. Management of the portfolio and vendor relationships will be key parts to this role. As part of a team, you will drive new products for retail, online and across all of our customer’s channels.


Trend analysis: support desk research, identification and report back on relevant trends.

Support and assist in the development of range strategy and receive sign off on all relevant stages of the process-trend.

Collaborate and support content creation with the internal and external team. Assisting and supporting content for in house training for the retail and care teams.

Liaise with internal functions to ensure the supply journey is on track and all relevant teams are engaged (e.g. finance/procurement etc).

Support setting up of new vendors and work with our existing vendors to ensure strong commercials and supply for new and existing products.

Support supply chain team on relevant information on new products and vendors.

Attend and support presentation of ranges at key events.

Report on the performance of new products and ranges on a weekly basis.

Source products that reflect our customers strategy and working closely with vendors and internal teams to bring these products to market.

Analyse data and insights on performance to maximise the strategy.

Work with the product team to build relationships with a network of vendors to support product strategy, including sourcing the right products and partners, maximise margin ambition through negotiation with vendors.

Support the development of offers to support sell through of non-mobile products.

Support to develop exit strategies for products that align with margin ambition.


A minimum of 3 years’ experience as Category Manager or Procurement Specialist.

In-depth knowledge of sourcing and buying products across multiple areas.

Analytical and critical thinker.

Excellent commercial acumen and negotiations skills.

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Exposure to mobile/technology category management.

BA in business administration, marketing or similar relevant field

Project management skills.
