Import / Export Specialist (Sea Freight)

Overview of role:Cavan
A vacancy has arisen for an Import / Export Specialist based on our clients site in County Cavan.
You will be required to deliver within budgetary and time sensitive deadlines while achieving business targets on a continual basis. You will demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude.
You will be a key player in an exciting, fast paced and well organised logistics environment ensuring that all orders are delivered in the most cost-effective manner, on time every time.
You will be responsible for customer service performance, utilising direct negotiation skills daily. You will seek to produce impeccable customer service levels, with the ability to react to any changing situation that develops on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Logistics Director, you will be the primary liaison with our client on all related logistics matters
Skills & Requirements:
Customer facing experience with a strong attention to OTD performance
Liaison between client production, warehousing and transportation to ensure transportation and shipping deadlines are strictly adhered to.
Short sea and trailer freight experience essential as product shipped worldwide
Co-ordinating and monitoring supply chain ops from overseas
Proactive and forward-thinking approach
Continually deliver towards KPI targets
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Actively look to reduce running costs
CPC Transport Management qualification an advantage
Strong communication skills in English both written & verbal
IT Skills – competent user of Excel
Experience in integrated systems e.g. SAP an advantage, but full training will be given on in-house systems
A background in data analysis would be helpful
Previous experience working in a team lead / manager role required (3 years min)
Strong Attention to detail
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm
Salary Guide will range at €40K to €45K depending on experience
