Sales Manager – Building Materials

Overview of role:



We are recruiting for an experienced Sales Manager for a manufacturing company based in Co. Kildare. This company manufacture building materials and supply all over Ireland and Europe.

It is envisaged that this new role will support the existing Internal Sales Team, as well as providing customers & partners with an exceptional service experience. Key Responsibilities will include:


Team Leadership and Management:

  • Managing and leading the Internal Sales Team with dedicated support and engagement with the external sales team
  • Cultivate collaboration, creativity, and mutual support within sales and customer service teams
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and IT support for new hires, ensuring seamless integration
  • Set clear goals and quality standards for teams, conducting regular performance reviews
  • In conjunction with the senior team develop and agree targets and budgets for the department


Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Supporting the sales team in identifying target markets, customer segments, and product/service offerings that present the most growth potential
  • Understand sales targets both in terms of revenue and volume in order to drive teamwork and support
  • Support the sales team with reporting on historical data, market trends, and customer insights to enable them to create accurate sales forecasts
  • Ensure price lists are up to date and communicated to the relevant teams


Sales and Performance Analysis:

  • Monitor KPIs of the sales team and provide feedback on these metrics to team members and the senior team
  • Analyse sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, work with sales team on these
  • Provide insights that contribute to accurate projections
  • Work with Sales and Marketing on sample presentation and Point of Sale material


Process Improvement:

  • Investigate the root causes of process inefficiencies and customer pain points. Use data-driven analysis to pinpoint the underlying issues
  • Assess the effectiveness of existing tools and technology used by the sales and customer service teams. Identify opportunities to optimise MS Business Central (ERP system) usage


Customer Service Excellence:

  • Develop and maintain high standards for customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Handle inquiries and direct customers to appropriate team members
  • Ensuring all customer files are correct and up to date on MS Business Central. Maximising the customer interaction




Suitable candidate must have the following to qualify for this role:

  • 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience within a Sales Management position
  • Proven track record in sales management and customer service, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in using an ERP systems and sales performance tracking tools. (Microsoft Business Central an advantage)
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and deliver results


On Offer:

  • Our client is offering a salary of €50K to €55K + Benefits
  • Hours of work – This is an office based role, Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 1.30pm
