Overview of role:


We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Sous Chef for our Daytime Restaurant based in Maynooth, Co Kildare

Breakfast and Brunch Restaurant using fresh seasonal ingredients from the local suppliers and will be introducing to customers new tastes, food pairing and flavours

The successful candidate will be:

  • Responsible for the running of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage policies and procedures
  • Assist the Head Chef in ensuring that the highest quality food is produced for the customers and that it is presented with flair and passion
  • Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen is in line with Food Hygiene Regulations and all Health
  • Work with the Head Chef to generate ideas in the kitchen, to update menus regularly and to produce a consistently good product
  • Assist the Head chef in training and developing the kitchen team
  • Cooking and preparing high-quality dishes
  • Supervising all kitchen stations
  • Directing the food preparation process, delegating tasks, and ensuring a smooth service in the kitchen
  • Supervising, motivating, and working closely with other chefs of all levels
  • Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
  • Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order


  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP principles
  • The ability to produce a high standard and high quality of food
  • Hardworking, trustworthy with a positive attitude

Hours – Daytime hours with 8 to 9 hours shifts

Salary will depend on experience but range up to €35K
